Thanks to everyone at APAC

We had a great time on Saturday at the APAC convention. We had a chance to catch up with old friends and meet new teachers, we hope to bring our plays to new schools in the coming months. I took the opportunity to attend a couple of very interesting sessions and if you are interested in finding out more about APAC and what they do please follow the link below. https://www.apac365.org

The Story of Rosalind Franklin

Behind LOOK OUT! productions there is always an extensive development process that begins well before a show is brought to your students.

The Story of Rosalind Franklin was inspired by two ESO students during the pandemic, when I began teaching again, and it has taken over a year to develop. After researching the story and producing a script I began working with the actors. In rehearsals we developed the script, made some changes, extended some parts and also made lots of cuts, due to our time constraints. The set and costumes were carefully developed to support the understanding of the characters and the timeline.

At the end of rehearsals we are always so excited to bring new shows to your students, and can’t wait to see this interaction between the audience and the action on stage. To that end I would like to include a teacher feedback which has made us feel very proud indeed.

Please see it below along with some photos.

Dear “LOOK OUT!” Team,

We recently had the pleasure of attending your performance on Rosalind Franklin and Photograph 51 in Salt (Girona) and we wanted to express our heartfelt appreciation for such an engaging and thought-provoking experience.

The way your production delved into the scientific world and brought Rosalind Franklin’s story to life was truly captivating. The candid account of events, the exploration of the challenges Franklin faced, and the race in 1952 in London were presented with authenticity and precision. Moreover, the inclusion of modern-day scientists added a unique perspective that made the play not only informative, but also highly relevant.

We were impressed by the seamless integration of activities that directly involved the audience (our students). It created an immersive experience that enhanced their understanding of the subject matter.

The educational resources provided, including the Teacher resources and Student workbook, were also really valuable in maximizing the benefit for learners. The vocabulary list, summary of the story, and creative activities were a thoughtful addition.

Thank you for delivering a performance that not only entertained but also educated. We look forward to future productions from the “LOOK OUT!” theatre company.

Best regards,

Joana Núñez
